Maybe AW5 isn't public Domain, but the Deja ][ emulator is.  It is offered
as a free download by Munoz (I hope that's the way you spell his name).
However, Deja ][ is NOT complete, you do need the original AW5 disks, to
copy over a couple of files.

Yes, AW5.1 is the best.  I even have all of the nifty Timeout Applications
