Good afternoon, Michael

Sorry that it took so long to reply to you Deja message. I had to get a
newer version of Stuffit Expander before I could get the .sit package to
open
up. I opened it on a floppy and have Ben running it from there. It seems
to
run smoothly and I was able to print out the Deja.Docs with my Desk Jet
printer. Much encouraged! My first step was to duplicate your printer
set-up in AppleWorks (a Silent type in Slot 7.) That had no effect.

I then started to look at differences in more detail and found plenty.
But I found nothing that clearly explained the differences in printing.
You
seem to be using Version 1.0 of Deja whereas my choice had been first
Version
1.2b following the advise of Bud Simrin of the Texas II group but that
gave
me a garbled screen, so I went back to Version 1.1b9 which gave a clear
screen and seemed to run Apple Works without trouble up to the point of
printing. Did you have any impelling reason to use V.1.0?

My work files are in the file folder whereas yours are inthe main Deja
folder. Shouldn't make any difference, I believe.

I had not seen anything about the /* so I have not used it. Should I try
to
use that instead of the specific ones I had generated?

I have no files called Dot.MacCommands,Startup Macro,Dot.Macsetup,or
MacSetup. Also I have not included the source files for Seg AX, Seg NA,or
Seq UM.

My Timeout Folder contains all of yours except To.MacSetup and in addition
mine contains Bev's 5.1 patcher and quite a lot others which I have added
over the years.

My Inits folder contains all of yours except I.UM.Macsetup and
I.UM.Macintosh.

My main Deja folder contains all of yours (except Inventory and Filters)
but
also contains Segs PC,MR,PB,RM, and XM and also from Phoenix Deja
keyboard,
and Deja mappings. Of course mine contains Deja v1.1a9 and yours v.1.0.

I saw nothing in Phoenix abpout the files in your setup and not in mine.
Probably they were given in the v.1 instructions?

Does anything occur to you? I guess one possibility would be to remove
the
Filter and inventory files an/d insert my workfiles in their place and use
the rest of your set up. I would like to get the later version to work if
possible. Any advise?

Did you recieve any useful help in changing the inventory and filter file
from others in response to your request? I hope so.

I appreciate the help you have given already so don't struggle with my
problem.

Thanks

Gene Smith
