Being a firm believer in cooperation rather than competition, I think there
is nothing charitable about selling someone hardware for less than it would
sell for on Ebay. After all, what if six months from now, I have a piece
of hardware that the seller wants? He or she is going to get a very good
deal on it. Yes, if you're just a dealer on Ebay who doesn't collect, that
means nothing. But I doubt there are any people on this listserve who are
just dealers with no personal interest in the computers we talk about
here. I believe in helping each other out, for the benefit of the
community as a whole and for my own benefit, financial and normative. If
you are looking to buy a particular piece of hardware, wouldn't you rather
get it a good price from another collector rather than go through the bid
sniping hell of Ebay?
