Sounds as if you are being limited by the software you are using to format
the hard drive. Which SCSI card are you using in your //e? Some of the older
formatting software, designed for use with early Apple SCSI cards, was very
limited as to number and size of partitions that could be created.
I've modified a program called Chinook SCSI Utilities to work with Zip
drives. This morning, I finally got around to trying my modified program with
a Zip 250MB drive and was able to create 7 32MB ProDOS 8 partitions. Not only
that, but version 2.0.3 of ProDOS 8 was able to mount all 7 partitions. This
was on a IIgs.
