OK, this is off topic, I just responded to the implied dig at windows, it's cliche and just not true anymore.

I have not used OS-X but have seen it at user group meetings. I just hate that desktop. Wow, can we turn off that magnifying glass? Thanks. How awful. I've seen it crash right there in a demo, maybe twice. I have Win-ME reputed to be the worse regularly used version of windows. There are negatives it does crash some, usually when I have 7 windows open, three of which are explorer.

I find that Apple is still loathe to allow for alternative keypresses for major desktop operations. To me that is one place where windows is way ahead of mac os.
I did have a mac a long time ago, it went away about system 7.6 or so, installing drives got to be a bear when the computer would not recognize it since it was a third party hardware. Most of my experience with installing in a pc are cards, they are usually plug in the machine sees it I put the disk in and install the drivers. IDE drives are master and slave, how is that rocket science. But I'll admit when it comes to that kind of stuff I either 1) go to the neighborhood computer repair shop and pay $100 for them to install the stuff or 2) get my son to do it. Neither of these options understand macs. I'd have to drive 20 miles and pay double the price if I wanted a mac repaired or upgraded.

Yes there are things that are better on a mac. Memory is still better. My laptop will only see 384k. This is awful. Macs can see what 2 gig? With memory afordable and sometimes cheap, this is awful for pcs.

But if it is possible to get this back on target, I've been using my Apple II gs a bit more as a 16 bit machine. When doing that I crash a lot more than either a pc or a mac. Maybe once every hour or so. As an 8 bit machine it is very stable and pretty fast.

Because mainstream is Wintel, macs are a nice oddity.

Macs are not really significantly different than pc's these days.

Both are bloteware. But crash often.
Someone obviously hasn't used Mac OS X (which I realize is way off topic for this list). One kernel panic this year. No hard crashes, although
