Actually, a large HD on a //e is possible with a RamFast, but keep in mind that you can't use all the partitions at the same time. ProDOS can recognize the RF as a smartport device, and have 4 partitions on at any one time--2 for the slot the card is in and then 2 more remapped to another. You can however, use the Ramfast to swap partitions in and out and so use a larger drive. GS/OS can have multiple partitions on the desktop however, so if you need more space, that might be the way to go.
I don't bother with that any more on my //e. I now have the Apple HS SCSI card hooked to a ZipDrive 100 formatted into 4 partitions. That doesn't get turned on as much any more since I'm using the CompactFlash for Apple II (CFFA) card to run my //e--solid state storage in the //e! :) Later.................Howard ____________________________________________________________ Computer n.
