Hi all,

Does anyone have a link to a site or know of a place where I can find
Apple disk images in Macintosh DiskCopy format? Apple has some such files
on their FTP site but only a very limited selection of sotware. If you
can make a disk image of some software that would go onto an Apple 3.5"
disk) and send it to me I would love that as well! I finally got my IIgs
up and running with 2 MB of RAM and I need some software to run on it!

I'm assuming you want to use a Mac to create 3.5" disks for your IIGS? If so, you can download any software and put it on a Disk Copy disk image yourself.

If you have a Power Mac you can use Bernie ][ The Rescue, an Apple IIGS emulator which can read and write most types of disk images. Using Bernie you can also drag files between the Mac Finder and the emulated IIGS Finder e.g. download a ShrinkIt archive on the Mac, drag it to Bernie, open it using GS-ShrinkIt, then save the files to a disk image which can later be written to a real disk. <http://www.bernie.gs/Bernie/>

If you don't have a Power Mac you can use Apple DOS File System. ADFS allows you to open and create various Apple II disk images, and copy files between them. ADFS hasn't been released yet, but if you ask the author he will sign you up as an alpha tester. No charge, just try it and tell him if you like it. <http://www.lazilong.com/apple_II/adfs/>

Also, I have several copies of GS/OS and ProDOS. If anyone knows where I
can find *good* software in .DSK format how can I use a copy of ShrinkIt
on the IIgs to get it on a floppy disk? And how can I use the Apple 5.25"
floppy drive in GS/OS. The icon never appears on the desktop. I can
format it with disktools but an icon never appears.

You can't use ShrinkIt for *.DSK images. These are raw disk images of 5.25" floppy disks intended for use with emulators, they were never intended for archiving or creating disks on a real Apple II. ShrinkIt can handle *.SDK (ShrinkIt disk archives), which are compressed images of a whole disk. To create disks from *.DSK images (or images from disks), I use the IIGS program Asimov from Ninjaforce. Download from the products page at <http://www.ninjaforce.com/>

If you know anywhere that I can get classic games like Number Munchers,
Moon Blaster, et all PLEASE let me know!!

Thanks a lot!

Matt
