Hi James--I have a 3.5 drive and a 5.25 drive. The only thing I found in the 3.5 drive was a Program Disk called The Music Studio 2.0
Unless your GS has a built in hard drive, you have to start the computer up from a disk. The "bouncing apple" is normal on the GS when there's no software to start from. Did the GS have any drives attached to it? Which kind, and how many? Was there any software that you also rescued?
It'd also be helpful to know how much memory there is in the computer. If you open up thecomputer (push in on the tabs at the back of the lid and lift towards you) see if there's any board in the slots. The memory board would be (as you're facing the front of the computer) the slot closest to the front right.
I opened the computer but can't locate the amount of memory. There is a black rectangular slot on the bottom right (Methode 472-02203-07 4389), but there is nothing inserted in it. There are seven similar slots at the top part of the computer with a small dark green board in one, and a longer green board in another leaving 5 unoccupied black small rectangles. Where would the size of memory be located?
