Re: Daisy chaining floppy drives on a IIgs

That's kind of what I was wondering.  Thought it seems strange that it 
will work with three and not four drives.  I would think a damaged 
control would affect any and all drive combo's.

In regards to some of the other replies:
1.  All my tests have ALWAYS put the 3.5" drives first in the chain, 
followed by the 5.25" drives.

2.  I have checked the cabling, including unplugging and plugging 
drives back in.  This was further tested by swapping out specific 
drives with other drives.  In ALL cases the fourth drive is not 
recognized.

3.  To eliminate possible bad drives or cables, as I mentioned in #2 
above, I have swapped out every single drive for other drives.  In ALL 
cases the result is the same.

At this point I'm going to assume the drive port off the IIgs is having 
a problem.

It is also possible that the IIgs's floppy controller is damaged if 
isn't one of the drives.... This can happen if a drive gets plugged in 
or unplugged while the IIgs is on.
