In regards to some of the other replies:
1. All my tests have ALWAYS put the 3.5" drives first in the chain, followed by the 5.25" drives.
2. I have checked the cabling, including unplugging and plugging drives back in. This was further tested by swapping out specific drives with other drives. In ALL cases the fourth drive is not recognized.
3. To eliminate possible bad drives or cables, as I mentioned in #2 above, I have swapped out every single drive for other drives. In ALL cases the result is the same.
At this point I'm going to assume the drive port off the IIgs is having a problem.
