Thank-you about the DSK2FILE suggestion Ian.  One suggestion though:
seeming as you are doing this over a serial port (ie. Kermit) you
should try something called ADT for the .DSK images.  It is specific
to .DSK images, but it is also very fast.  Unlike Kermit.  Though
I do agree that Kermit is one of the most reliable file transfer
programs I have used on the Apple II.

And thank-you for the detailed instructions Nat.  My situation is
a tad outside the scope of your instructions though, since my IIe
is a daughter card inside a Macintosh LC475.  The main advantage:
it is a IIe with a hard drive which may be accessed by the Macintosh
side.  No file transfer headaches!  Oh, and it can access the 3.5"
floppy drive too. :-)  And it is better than an emulator because
you can use real 5.25" diskettes too.  (Alas, no disk images of
any form.)
