@ROUND function:
---------------
In early versions of AppleWorks-A2 ("Real" AppleWorks), the programmers did a statistical search and found that the commonly used "5/4 round-off" was really not 100% fair for values with only a 5 following the round-off digit. So they devised an algorithm that rounded-up if the digit preceeding the 5 was an even number, and rounded-down if it was an odd number.

But this then conflicted with the commonly used round-off procedure. So they abandoned this algorithm in AWks-3, and on. The @ROUND then yielded results consistent with common usage.

When I worked with Dan Verkade, the programmer of 1040-Works Income Tax program (a huge AWks spreadsheet) in 1993 and 1994, we had to avoid the @ROUND function, and instead use the round-off formula using the @INTEGER function. This was required only so users of AWks-2 and earlier would always yield proper answers.
