DHS Makes Cybersecurity R&D A Priority

인터넷주소는 점차 진화하고 있다. 숫자로 만들어진 IP주소에서 영문도메인으로 발전하였고, 비영어권 국가의 편의성을 고려하여 `한글.com' 
형태의 다국어 도메인으로 발전하였다. 지난 2008년 6월 국제인터넷주소관리기구인 ICANN은 도메인 완전개방을 결의하였다. 도메인 완전 
개방이란 `.com' `.net'과 같은 일반 최상위 도메인을 누구나 신청할 수 있고 심사를 통과하면 도메인으로 허용하겠다는 것이다. 여기에는 
`tworld.skt'와 같은 영문 도메인이 아닌 다국어도 포함된다. 즉, 현재는 최상위 도메인은 영문만 가능하였으나, 조만간 `한글.한글' 
형태의 도메인을 사용할 수 있게 된다는 것이다.
