I couldn't even get xedit to work for me in 1.50src.
What I would sooooooooooooooooooooooo much like to see is a small change
in code so that user could enter path & software name to use and based
upon configuration the default editor or editor of choice would
automatically appear whenever one wanted to [C]ompose or reply to mail.
I should think it would take no more than changing a hardwired line of
code to a local variable, said variable set within Arachne.cfg from
options. The file name would be set when exiting that editor, the same
way it's assigned now when exiting from default. Headers & quote [if
selected] could be passed to external editor the way it goes to default
editor now.
Agreed, the user would need to know how to "hand enter" ccs and
attachments, because the overlaying "framework" of the default editor
wouldn't pass to the external editor. Or, as far as that goes, those
things could be done by simply modifying the message in the outbox.
But for many of us having the editor of choice available "INSIDE"
Arachne, rather than having to save, exit Arachne, use editor to write
message, save message, etc. would be great.
