Check out www.egghead.com with 1.6b1. A few seconds after the page starts to
load, Arachne appears to switch to fullscreen mode. No title or URL bar, and
no TCP/IP time display. The status bar remains.
This page presents NO problem to Arachne 1.50b2.<<
I just went to egghead and did not have this problem. However, when I hit
<ALT>H to hang up, a .GIF image appeared in the upper left corner of an
otherwise black screen.
>>Also, while testing at this site from my home, since my mouse driver refused
to load because it couldn't find a mouse, I had to view the page source (F6)
to find the URL for "Computer Products".
When I hit ESC to leave that source display, Arachne went back to the PREVIOUS
URL (Yahoo) - not to the egghead page I was viewing. This can be especially
annoying because to return to that egghead page (if it was REALLY necessary)
would take more than a minute JUST TO RENDER !! Home computer is a 20Mhz '386

Do you have ESC set up in ARACHNE.CFG for "Back" or to "Exit?" Actually, you
could leave the page source by hitting F6 again. However, this loads the
previous page from [RAM] disk.
>>On the same point as the above, when you altH to hang up, Arachne, for no
useful reason, RELOADS the current page from cache. On the Computer Products
page this takes 3 minutes and 11 seconds !!! On my home computer. :-((
This last problem may not be new, but it sure makes the veins stand out on my
forehead. <G> <<
Actually, I don't like this feature either, but some members of the list have
asked for this so that they could read the page offline. I preferred the
previous method of returning to the dial-up page when hitting <ALT>H. It
was a way of letting me know when I had successfully hung-up. I could always
go back to the last loaded page from the dial-up page by hitting <CTRL>LEFT
ARROW. I know that Michael P. can't satisfy everyone, so maybe there could
be an option in the Setup so that the user could select what he/she wanted;
similar to the setup for the ESC key being either "Back" or "Exit."
This is annoying to me, but not a bug that needs Michael's immediate
attention.
