Howdy Glenn,

It was I, not Dale, who originally posted the question about AOL Instant
Messenger. Thanks for your reply. I checked out the URL. There is also
a Windows CE version of AIM, and it works. My son has installed the CE
version of AIM on his handheld computer. The Windows CE version of ICQ is
very buggy according to my son and his friends. They tried it and had
problems with it. It seems that the CE version of ICQ doesn't like
dynamically assigned IP numbers. I can't personally check it out myself
because my son lives very far from me. Anyone having information on this,
please respond privately, as the subject of Windows CE programs is way
off-topic.

with ICQ. It appears that AIM does just the same kind of thing as ICQ.
A very fine DOS version of ICQ (called MICQ by its author) has been
developed. I use it and it works great. Since we now have a DOS clone
for ICQ, it would of course seem theoretically possible to write a similar
DOS program for AIM. I sure would like to have such a program.
