DosFax PRO (DOS version of Winfax) handles Y2K just fine without manual
manipulation of the year in the scheduler or anywhere else. If you can
find DosFax Pro through any used software source, it _may_ work better
than MTEZ with _some_ modems. However, since DosFax Pro was not
included with faxmodems (DosFax Lite and WinFax Lite were) it will be
harder to find. I believe all the old Delrina (DosFax, WinFax) products
were merged with Datastorm and then the combined company was bought by
Quarterdeck and now Quarterdeck belongs to Symantec. I haven't checked
to see whether you can still get DosFax Pro through Symantec. It may be
worth checking. I wouldn't expect it to be free, however, having
recently checked on Symantec's support for Y2K fixes for Procomm Plus
2.01 (DOS).
Does the MTEZ fax scheduler really fail to work with the year showing as
"100"? My first thought would be that it's a cosmetic thing (as in
Procomm Plus 2.01's phone directory and file directory listings), but
maybe it has an effect in the scheduler.
BTW, QL2FAX (QuickLink Fax II) exhibits the same year behavior as MTEZ
in some of its modules. In the case of QL2FAX, directory browsing for
fax maintenance causes an error (and a program abort) when a file with a
year "00" shows in the directory. QL2FAX was included with many
faxmodems sold in the early 1990s.
