There's no 6.0 out yet (Linux is still on 2). You probably mean a ceratin
distro. Perhaps you can specify which? (Red Hat?)

Wouldn't it be easier to:
1. Choose another console (press CTRL-ALT-F2 for instance)
2. Don't start x automatic - start it via "startx" (will save RAM)

Have you attempted to use another console? I've only been able to look
Linux once. Netscape on the other hand crashes very often (xkill always
fixes it). (I've been told this is due to the fact that I want to use the
keyboard instead of the mouse).
