Yes, Bernie, a stock standard Creative Labs SB16.

Where would one find that ? Any file called PATCH.DAT can be used
directly as-is by invoking the DIGIMID driver from SETUP.EXE.

FWIW: I am running FreeCDP in Arachne from the APM prepared by Florian Xaver.
It is running on the built-in driver for (among others) SB16, giving a stereo
output, presumable using the built-in Allegro patches. To my ears, it sounds
better than the MIDI patches that come with Win 3.1, and that, in turn, is
better than the sound coming from my wife's AWE64 card on her Pentium 166
under Win95. When I say "better", I mean that the MIDI sounds like the
instrument that it represents.

It has been over a week now, and I am still getting a huge buzz out of
hearing my MIDIs playing properly in DOS.
I guess musicians are easily amused. {:-D

    Yer blood's worth bottling ! (*)

Thanks, Glenn, that would be great ! Actually, my email connection
with my ISP is quite fast, so that is not a problem. What I am not
interested in is trying to download those damn ZIP files from the Cubic
Player home page - it was like watching frozen treacle pour. :(
I know that you rate these patches highly, and I AM keen to try them out,
honest !

(*) This is a term of endearment and acclamation in Australia, where it is
often, but not always, followed by the addition: "and selling fer rat
poison."

Regards,
        Ron
