Please let me cut in and answer that one.

As a matter of personal preference, I use terminal mode all the time when
I start up Arachne on-line.  I have discovered that once I enter my
username I can hit F7 to install the packet driver, without even waiting
for the prompt to enter my password.  Of course this will not work if my
password is incorrect in my setup data.  (I have already conducted some
experiments to confirm this.)  Normally I will wait for the prompt to enter
my password.  After I enter my password I hit ALT + P as soon as the
"exotic characters" appear.
