At this point, hit <Enter>. You'll see some gibberish on the screen, then hit ALT-P,
That will take you back into Arachne where you'll be able to start surfing. At least,
that's how it works with FreeWWWeb on my local POP.
I added a non-https link for Arachne users to sign up for FreeWWWeb on our DOS page at
AccessMasters.Com. Go to http://accessmasters.com/freedos.html.
It's true that there used to be a sign-up fee for FreeWWWeb, thus the information on
our site regarding using a fake credit card number to bypass this part of the
registration. Apparently this has been removed from the online registration, but it's
still on the CDROMs that are making the rounds, so we'll leave the info on our page
for now.
Anyway, I've been on the Arachne list for a couple of years now and have included DOS
Internet information on our site ever since I discovered Arachne. I'm the owner of
AccessMasters.Com, which started out as a reseller of UniDial Internet Services, but
is now a portal for free and discount Internet and telecom products.
What can I say? I grew up on DOS and have several old 386 machines that I work on, one
of which is connected to my office LAN. Now, if I just just figure out how to get the
darned thing (using Arachne) to work with the DSL on the network. So far my attempts
have failed.
Long live DOS (and thanks, Michael!)

Richard Burckhardt
