Publicly available NNTP servers are hard to find. Trying to retrieve messages
lost by news.bluegrass.net during their three-day downtime, I found many that
were no good, one that worked but was very slow, then it no longer worked, and I
found another that worked but was slow, making my 56 K modem look like 2400 bps.
One place to look is http://www.jammed.com, I couldn't find any better: looked
nice on the Web page but not when I actually tried the NNTP servers.
Alternatively, you can go to http://www.deja.com or http://www.remarq.com, but
the WWW interface is much slower than a regular NNTP server.
