Dale, How much memory do you have, and are you set up to always use temp when possible and did you select XMS? I know not all of it may apply but gotta start somewhere. I have 136K memory off-line when just reading, 115K when using the built in editor to write this. I have three profiles I've been switching back and forth to in last couple of versions. I'd been doing all my editing outside Arachne, so today after reading your message I backed up one of the acf files, selected it, modified it, went to "D"ial screen, clicked blue "Profiles" and selected "save as .."
