I am not giving up, ...yet. I can send the password, but then I get:
valid commands are
telnet [start telnet session with remote host]
quit [hang up and exit]
help [list valid commands]
I know it recieved my password because if I don't send one, I get
the messag "invalid username/password pair" But this "valid
commands..." message is a dead end. I dont type anything, waiting
for "your IP adress is..." but pretty soon I get "NO CARRIER", I
type in telnet, and it says "starting telnet session with remote
host (I don't think this is what I want, because, It don't go any
further, if I wait, I again get "NO CARRIER" It don't matter when
or if I press f7, It will say "PPP link is down" (sound familiar?)
I type in help, and it just repeats "valid commands are..."I
haven't typed in quit, because it will just do that anyway. Is
this a message unique to my ISP?, Or is this what is supposed to
happen (I don't think so.) I am going to reinstall arachne and
start over, while I wait for a reply. (like that will make any
