Good demo of two things Glenn;
One is a good argument for a "live" list. It would have been very nice
to get your input more promptly, when we were actually "trying" things.
The other is a good example of the current confused state of Arachne and some
of its' users. I thought I did a fair test when I tried to use the Arachne/
Wordstar/Borland block marking and copy function. (Which didn't work) :(
It never occurred to me to try the functions you suggested, as the last
time I "Scrolled to Help", I found that those functions were such a strange
mix of traditional and nouveau that the only thing I wanted to do with them
was re-program them ! (So I deleted the scroll to help function) :)
The fact that THAT version of the copy and paste command works shows that
it CAN be made to work with (atleast) the block copy command in the future
to be consistent - and I would personally prefer the latter over cntrlC. <g>
And, of course, since the "To:" line still doesn't seem to be a "textarea"
(at least in the .htp file), now I have no idea how/why THAT works.
In the Windows world NO ONE has any idea how or why (or if) things work.
I don't think that should be the philosophy to follow for a DOS based
program of any kind.
My opinion only, of course. The Master can (and will) do whatever he wants.
