Et al.....
My (not humble) opinion on this...
....I actually don't find it too inconvenient to read off the Digest,
and post to the List...
I don't yet use Glenn's conversion utility, and will probably soon start
using it, because the one inconvenience is all the CTRL-Y erasing I
have to do to get the post I want to respond to....<g>
I DO appreciate the format of the digest now, from the members who are
using it...because, I can find a block of responses/posts from a person
all together in one place in the digest....this was somewhat true with
the list messages, but is much more consistent with the digest format.
This helps my admittedly feeble memory to locate that "little something"
that I vaguely remember so-and-so posting, sometime back around then...
..I NEED any extra help I can get in this area...<g>
Re: Glenn's post in the last Digest about CTRL-C/CTRL-V and my post to
this Digest about "importing text file"....this is all the functionality
needed to let us import/export info into/outof the Insight...maybe some
people need other things in their mail composers, but I don't..

Re: Michael's request (and it was a "request" not an order) to refrain
from shipping MIME format binary files to the list...
I find them exceedingly useless, coming down in the Digest...as for
shipping them thru the List into Digest in UUENCODE format, I think that
would be only a little less useless...most of these would not even be
opened by me if they got through intact...
Mieller's and McCorkle's comments on this are "right on" If necessary,
include Autoexec.bat, config.sys, arachne.cfg, etc as attackments...this
is probably a necessary concession for "newbies" like me, but really,
if they are pertinent, they should be exerpted in-line so that we can
follow what the person is talking about....any attachments will normally
be from a newbie, asking that they be scanned to see if anyone can spot
their problem(s)....
Maybe we can come up with a "holding area" where these binaries can be
temporarily posted (say for a couple of weeks before Archiving) and the
URL posted, so we can click the link and have it immediately downloaded
for us...I set something up before, when Michael first suggested people
vacate the List (for receiving only) that would have completely unloaded
the List from the arachne.cz server...Michael and I discussed this, and
he was emphatic that he was NOT trying to "get rid of us." We left the
thing hang there while we tought about it further, to see if there was
any other use we could put this area to...maybe "holding area" for
temporary files is one use...
