Glenn,

I've responded privately to some of your "make fun of the dumb broad"
messages that have been showing up lately.

But your jokes aren't funny any more.

If Michael's install program can check to see if a directory exists on
the designated drive, and then ask if you want to install over an
existing installation in that directory, it would appear that Michael is
capable of handling a bit of code that could produce and error message.

Yes, Michael *does* know how to write an error message to screen! WOW!!

And Michael knows how to write code that checks free memory, and all
sorts of other things far more complex than running a command of some
sort to see if %spaceleftondrive% =< file size. He already has
parameters in Arachne that check free space available on 'home drive for
Arachne' IIRC.

So I don't really think Michael would have to bloat the code to windows
proportions to have Arachne check to see if there is room to put a file
on a HDD [or even a FD for that matter!].

I'm not asking Michael to *guess* at what size a created BMP file *will*
be; I'm just saying it would be nice to have the software compare size
of file to freespace on designated drive, and produce error message if
there isn't adquate space to export that file.

And it would be a nice thing for users of Arachne, because Michael never
did implement what I once suggested a year or so ago: Tell user the
size of file downloaded [or in this case "created"] so we can check both
if the d/l was completed or transfer terminated early [ or in this case
if the file will fit on such & such a drive].

l.d.

P.S. To speak as if Michael programs as poorly as a M$ committee is an
      insult to him.
P.P.S. In addition to already having a "drive space available" checker
in Arachne, didn't I see someone say that he also has a "what
kind of file is this really" checker built in also.
