I see where FreeDOS page has gone GIF-free at their site. Works fine 
with Arachne and their PNG graphics. Also I think Unisys' patent 
expires in 2003, IIRC reading about this on FreeDOS site. According 
to the site Unisys is trying to charge The Weather Channel site over 
$3 million dollars to use GIF images.
