It is true, that one of unfinished features in Arachne is better
detection of failed disk writes (copying, saving, converting files...).
Arachne already has both error screen for failed disk operations, and
warning screen "disk full", but these screens are not used as often as
they should. I am adding this to my TO-DO list.

Howgh.

And BTW, *real* PostScript printer should recognize PostScript (.ps)
file when you try to print it (print filename.ps or type
filename.ps>PRN). This is why it is called "PostScript" printer, IMHO.
But I never tried to do it this way, all printers I know use different
printing languages and I have to use GhostScript utility to transfer .ps
files to printer-specific graphical format (in my case Cannon BJC-210,
which is supported by GhostScipt as BJC-600 series, butt only in B&W
mode :-((( This is one of reasons why Arachne doesn't produce colored
PostScript files: I would be able to preview them on screen with
GhostView, but I won't be able to print them anyway).

I believe that PostScript is currenty best (relatively-)open standard
for high-resolution static graphical output. Well, Adobe should be paid
for implementation of renderer, but authors of GhostScript overcame it
by saying, thatt GhostScript reads "PostScript-like" input, and avoided
branding it as PostScript renderer ;-) (Maybe I should declare, that
Arachne can display GIF-like image files, to overcame patent problems
forever ;-)))

There is port of GhostScript to DOS, but it is same problem as with PDF
viewer for DOS: only very old version are ported to DOS. I can undestand
it, because keeping software to run in both 16bit and 32bit versions is
realy hard. I am writing this from DOS build of Arachne, which fails
to display IKN files in HTML page as side effect of some changes I did
to be able to display them in Linux version :(((( But I won't give up,
I want to write portable DOS/Linux software. (possibly not only Arachne,
but also other utilities..)
