Somebody told me back in the days of Windows 3.0 that Windows was for somebody
who doesn't know how to use a computer, and the ILoveYou virus proves that a lot
of Windows users, even in big business, don't know how to use a computer. If
they did, they would make sure to set their email program to not automatically
execute attachments. They had more than enough time to learn from previous
virus attacks such as Melissa. But MS bears a major part of the blame for
putting out email programs where the default is to open and execute executable
attachments and not warning the users that this leaves the system wide open to
virus attacks, as well as an OS where security is very lax.
