Hi Dave;
You're not contradicting me. I don't think I said Baud and BPS were the same.
I did screw up eleswhere however, by sloppily not specifying that I was
thinking and talking about serial (RS232) rates and then used those numbers
as if they were the same as the data rates of encoded modem transmissions.
And I even reported my modem communication rates as baud when they were bps.
57600 baud serial RS232 rate contains less data than 57600 bits per second
modem communication rate even excluding any allowance for compression.
