still HELP wanted

Thanks to you all who gave me advice... but as you can see at the title of this mail Arachne does not function still !

Many told me to give my username at the login prompt

so I tried to do but the keys seems not to respond neither on the screen, neither to the provider.

The only key that responds is "Escape" that brings me back to the Arachne screen wich tells me:"Unable to initialize PPP"

The telephone line is still busy and the only thing to end this is the command:

"arachne -u" => termin: terminate completed

Then.... a blinking cursor appears but nothing happens and the computer has to be reset.

Formerly I used a point to point communication program on the telephone called Bitcom... I tried it again to day towards my provider:

The provider returned the same login prompt "login:" but now I could give my username wich returned the "Pword:" prompt.

I gave the password and then the answer was: No ASCII allowed

Anyway there was a reaction...

I will include the CFG-file maybe some detail is wrong???
