I don't think that even MSIE 3.0 can live with Shockwave and Flash. I
believe the latest and greatest versions are required. In many cases
one cannot simply just upgrade to the latest and greatest unless he
also upgrades his memory.
So if you don't like Shockwave and Flash and what they do to foul up
your system, then just don't visit those pages that incorporate these
bugs. Someday web-developers will hopefully wise up and realize that
if they want to get people to visit their pages, then they will have
to develop according to standards allowing for compatibility.
