>Also, how about ADSL? anyone tried it with DOS?
Yep. It works. Well, actually I've got my DOS box connected to a
peer-to-peer network with two Win98 machines, one of which acts as the
server for my DSL line. It took tons on tweaking and help from fellow
listers, but I got it up and running on my 386sx-16 with 4 megs of RAM and
DR-DOS 7.02. It works, but it's still slooooooow because of the computer.
I was very disappointed to find that on my 386 machine, the DSL speed
doesn't help at all. Despite my 256k connection, the old computer drags
everything down to the point that it desn't seem any better than using
FreeWWWeb with my 33.6 modem.
Sorry to disappoint you. DSL will work with DOS and Arachne, but I suggest a
faster machine that I've got.
Later,
Richard
