Michael,

I am now getting messages from Arachne list after three days no see. I never
unsubscribed, and I didn't resubscribe. Would I do better to switch to digest?
I can't see why I didn't get Arachne list messages for three days when other
email reached me, including some other emailing lists.

Regarding ZIP vs. RAR, I browsed http://www.rarsoft.com, found that RAR is $35
shareware, not open-source. Infozip, which is compatible with PKZIP, is
open-source and runs on many computer platforms. An open-source alternative to
RAR is bzip2, which is supposed to compress tighter than Infozip. There is a
bzip2 for DOS, but since not many Arachne users have bzip2, ZIP is a better
choice for distributing a new Arachne release.

On http://www.rahul.net/dkaufman, I remember seeing a link to DOS bzip2 v0.95
and DOS port of wget as well as DOS Lynx 386.
