In the meantime I have solved the computer freezing problem. I have to admit it was my mistake:( The cache setting pointed to a non-existing directory. More, the ending "\" in the path was missing. This is probably something Arachne doesn't like. When I added the "\", Arachne clearly stated that was a non existent directory. Sorry for the inconvinience I probably have caused.
