Depends on the pages "Type". Many pages do NOT specify:

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html";charset="ISO-8859-1">

The "1/4" character appears, on closer inspection, to be "3/4". Sorry,
my monitor is quite old and fuzzy. <g>
