I gather you experienced no undue wait, perhaps it's just one of those
system-specific things. :-]<<
Pete,
Was the filename (filename.ext) 8 characters or less and contained no
spaces? If you did not change the filename to 8 characters or less, then it
would not meet the DOS 8.3 requirement.
A hint when you do a dir filename.ext /S. Use only the first 3 or 4
characters of filename and use a wild card for the remainder and the
extension, i.e., dir fil*.* /S. Sometimes when a filename is longer than 8
characters, DOS will truncate the name to the first 8 characters and then use
the next 3 characters as the extension. If you have partitioned your hard
drive into logical drives, as I and others have (I have drives c: thru k:), a
program such as whereis.com that can search across multiple drives is a real
time saver, e.g., whereis fil*.* c k, will search all drives for any file
that begins with, "fil." Try searching for, dir zoo*.* /S and see what you
come up with.
I just downloaded zoolrave.mod.zip, deleted ".mod" and saved --- no problems.
When you changed the path to "download\songs" did you put a backslash after
"songs" so that it would read "download\songs\zoolrave.zip"?
