Blind users were noticed as example of users who dont need graphics...

.. both graphical and text version of Arachne homepage are relatively well
readable by Lynx. Text only version of course looks better, but
information is the same. I am afraid, that blind users will anyway learn,
that Arachne is useless for them... but in fact, Arachne-optimized
handwritten HTML has much better chance to be compatible with their text
mode Lynx browsers, than HTML created by FrontPage and optimized for MSIE.

This is the point of Arachnes existence: we want to prevent Microsoft from
defining what is considered to be valid HTML and what isnt. Blind users
are just one of many minorities, which can be disqualified if Microsoft
gains full control over HTML content.

To succesfuly resist Microsoft, we have to be compatible with their
distorted standards (unfortunately), but the simple fact, that huge user
base of certain application may decide to refuse new Microsofts extension
to HTML, and accept rather non-Microsoft extensions, can help a lot.
