Bastiaan,

.PDF files are Adobe's Portable Document Format file format.  You need an 
"Acrobat" reader in order to read the files; unfortunately, there isn't one 
for DOS that will read the current file format.  Adobe used to have "ACRODOS" 
reader, but I haven't had much luck using that lately with the latest .PDF 
files.  

The readers are free, and can be obtained from the Adobe website, 
www.adobe.com.

Adobe also has a free service in which they will convert a .PDF file to a 
text file and e-mail it to you if you send them the file or the web site 
where the file is located, but I don't remember the address to send the 
request.  That doesn't help if you are interested in the images and wiring 
diagrams.
