Q: I tried PAP/CHAP login and it doesn't seem to be working.
    What do I do now?

A: Try a "manual login" also called "terminal login".
On the dialer screen (press "d" while in Arachne),
check the box for "show terminal"
(leave the box for "login script" unchecked)

When you dial and connect (Alt+D or press the "Dial now" button),
your ISP will ask for your "username:" or "login:".
Type-in your username and press enter.
("username" *only* for ISPs such-as cisnet.com but
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" for ISPs such-as freewwweb)

You'll then be asked for "password:" (in most cases)
Type-in your password and press enter. (it will not be echoed to
the screen as you type so be sure that you type it correctly)

You should then see some "junk characters" appear on your screen.
At this point (even if the ISP did not ask for a password),
press either the F7 key or Alt+P

Here is a screen capture from my most recent "terminal login"....

(a this point, the PPP "packet driver" (the program which actually
communicates with the ISP), was loaded and I was sent back into
