But you have a S3 card Michael... S3 support has been completed (AFAIK) for
a few versions, other cards (like my ATI) are not supported. Besides
atleast in the 1.62 version Arachne didn't turn back into textmode
afterwards (perhaps you changed this for 1.64 I never checked it out).

I actually saw a note about Arachne Linux version on http://www.linux.nu/
(swedish Linux page) when 1.62 was released - one of the people that
commented it was that Apache was all that was needed for a web-server
(obviously didn't read everything before commenting).
And there's atleast one other person on this list that uses it (Johan) that
also saw that note on linux.nu
