I went to download Arachne 1.65 with DOS Lynx386 but that was about 27 hours
too early. I saw Current version 1.64...
Last night I found Current version 1.65 with IBM Web Explorer for OS/2, but
clicking on the link to http://browser.arachne.cz/dos/ produced page
http://arachne.cz/404/ (404 Not Found). This Web Explorer can not always find
its way around.
When I tried with OS/2 port of Lynx (2.82, I believe), I got the error of not
being able to find gzip to deal with the temporary file whose name ends in
.html.gz. Arachne site is the only site that produced such an error, but this
error seems not to happen with DOS Lynx386 (2.8.3pre8). This temporary .html.gz
file sure has me curious. I don't have any GZIP.EXE on the PATH either with
DOS or OS/2.
Next thing to do is browse http://browser.arachne.cz/dos/ with DOS Lynx386.
Then I can download the new Arachne and also the desired APMs to install from
Arachne, and I will still have the .APM files for the next Arachne release.
Does the number 3 really look ugly in Arachne? I never thought so.
