Just to report that I have downloaded the latest version (as at July 17) of
Arachne for Linux and have had two pleasant experiences surfing with it. The
technical details are as follows:-
computer IBM 686 model (133 MHz)
memory 32 meg
video 800x600 display ... something like SVGA
system Mandrake 7.1
The installation went smoothly ... and I can now use it as richard (not just as
root like last time).
What I like specially is that I now have a program to display graphic images
(attachments) quickly and reliably ... There were no problems during my hours
surfing.
I am waiting for the upgrades to provide mail, proper home page, etc. **Michael

As I expected ... the linux version beats the dos versions major flaw ...
memory management.
