Hi Eric;
It wasn't really a discussion. I just posted an alert warning people to
think twice and contact their ISP if the list went dead.
I didn't want to say at the time, but arachne.cz got listed in the ORBS
database as an Open Relay - which basically means (I guess) that spam
could be routed THROUGH it. I wouldn't know how to do it, but Michael
checked and sure enough, mail addressed to recipients outside of arachne
would pass right thru it.
Anyway, my ISP is apparantly one of the security conscious few who
automatically blocked ALL traffic from arachne.cz attempting to enter
their systems, as soon as they became aware that arachne had become
listed as an Open Relay.
The problem is now fixed, so I'm no longer blocked and also no longer
reluctant to discuss it. :-)
