Something new has started happening, so thought I'd throw it into the pot. I wrote my son an e-mail. The smtp upload aborted according to Arachne, and file was placed in outbox as it should be. I check smtp.log to see what the problem was, and the log file was empty. I modified the message and tried again. smtp aborted no smtp.log I wrote myself an e-mail and tried yet again. smtp abort no smtp.log Went to options; everything there was correct, but decided to "save" and "use new settings" anyway. Sent my e-mail to myself. Went through just fine. Sent e-mail to son. Went through just fine. Checked smtp.log to see what it showed on the message to son previously aborted twice. Found not last smtp session, but the session prior ... the e-mail I'd sent myself. Decided to chkdsk/f 1 lost allocation unit, 1 chain ... I selected Y to make into file and was told starting something-or-other had been overwritten. But got a file, and sure enough there was what *should* have been the smtp.log entry -- the successful send to my son. After I send this I'm going to check smtp.log once again and see what's showing. l.d. -- Learn about B'FOR Join B'FOR - B'mothers For Open Records B'FOR www.b-for.org [Associate members of triad also welcome; membership confidential if desired.] -- Arachne V1.64, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
