helping me get onto One Nation Online to replace the old freewwweb.
Forget about Dialfree and Family Connect and those other bozos with
their credit cards and surveys gimmicks. 1nol is totally free and it
works beautifully.
One correction: signup, although it doesn't work with Arachne, does not
need Javastink. I was able to sign up using lynx on a Linux box at
work, and I know (because www.mcafee.com confirmed) that it is a
java-free environment.
Don't know why the signup process doesn't like Arachne.
Mailandnews.com, a provider of free email service, is the same way--you
can't create a new acct with Arachne, but once you do it with some other
browser it becomes Arachne-friendly.
(Suggestion to all Arachnoids--get yourself a free mbox on
mailandnews.com, and use it sted the mbox you got from your ISP. That
way if your free ISP pulls a freewwweb your email address does not have
to change.)
