Today I received an email message from DialFree announcing its first
survey form required for completion. (DialFree is a free ISP that
requires subscribers to fill out monthly survey forms. If the
subscriber fails to fill out his survey form he will have $19.95 charged
against his credit card. Otherwise the service is absolutely free.)
The message directed me to a secure website where I logged on and filled
out the form. I have a dozeware machine that I use whenever I can't use
Arachne. I was able to use my usual ISP to complete the survey.
I use DialFree only as a backup ISP for use at times when Shentel is down.
Although I find that DialFree works fine with Arachne and other DOS
internet applications, you all should be warned that you will need access
to a browser capable of accessing secure web sites whenever you do the
monthly survey forms.
