I think you are seeing Arachne run your command.com after doing 
certain things. You may or may not have seen it, but Arachne will 
sometimes crash with the message that it cannot load command.com. 
There was some discussion on this list (probably last year) about 
this and a recommendation that you configure your system to load 
command.com from a floppy. Using this technique you can get a good 
idea of how much Arachne accesses command.com.

P.S. You should be able to prevent any HD access by Arachne by 
placing you command.com  file on the RAMdisk and configuring your 
system to look for it there.
