Clarence + fellow posters- Sorry to be caught using Outlook for this - Came home a bit fuzzy...bin away for a few days, thats why the delay in responding, on account of my brother getting married yesterday - you know the stuff, family occasion, free bar (!!!), long sobbing sessions by our mum etc :-) Been away for a few days & know how some <vbg> feel now, about mail stuff stacked up. 1st, thx for all the help you posted about config of arachne with dodgy pNp modem. I gave up in the end as the whole system started behaving *very* flaky - think its just been driven too hard for too long :-@ In the end, I pnp-d it to death, and constantly ripped out my 8$ (5 GBP) chinese multi-IO card... I still think problem was with actual BIOS tho - the comtool you sent didn't work quite right for me - maybe cos I was working under win95, so autoexec maybe was not read right. 2nd - About that dull razor! Naaah, but how about that, I popped in the 3D tags, NS & IE above 4 seem to ignore em OK, and arachne renders em on welcome page just fine (A161...doze95...32Meg). 3rd - I get the point about 960K. CGA. Arse. But maybe net-tamer, or pegasus,or lynx or ... And there's more - About Karens problem with arachne- Is all that stuff about patching arachne really that far-fetched? Only i thought about the sort of stuff that Casio do, you know, multi-function watches, databanks, lots of 'features' - if a WAP* version of arachne were release, perhaps voice from status line could be a good addition? People might really go for that...*WAP = Wireless application protocol, a kind of text-web for mobile (cell) phones. It was neat to see people in action finding ways to solve access difficulties, and I think the good bit about groups like this is the chance to find fixes in a much more personal way than a corporate body could ever do! Take it steady. Neil (Z). www.comatose.freeserve.co.uk/welcome.htm
