Default in most MS-DOSes, I'm affraid... You don't have to
set any env var to get that...

IMHO, the built in cache cleaner was much safer.

How about creating Arachne's own TEMP directory? Like what
you currently do with MAIL and CACHE

I don't think so, that was the only way to emulate the default
TEMP behavior in non-MS DOSes.

Well, when I was first received CLR.BAT, I activate it for
the first time with Undelete Sentry turned-on. Just in case
if it's doing something bad to my HD (didn't have Prof Timo's
batch stuff yet, back then). I removed the undelete TSR
later, that was after cca. 60 F8s or so... Yes, deleting
cache was awfully slow! ;-)

Yes, still the same.

Yes, please: Create Arachne's own TEMP dir! Just to be
sure ;-)
